Cream and Sugar

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
myself
Your missing a lot from a resize image that's up on your monitor. There are grains of the paper, when the ink tappers off and starts to slowly show each individual brush hair, or the ink droplets that come when you quick turn the motion of a brush these are little details that I just relish as I was coloring Justin Coffee's work. As I'm working on the contours and the planes, all of this seems just second nature just because how well defined his line work is. For me it seems like Justin already planed out the colors before hand and each line was directing me where to go next. I can't emphasize how much of a privilege it is to work on coloring his art.

So with that in mind, the highly anticipated "Cream and Sugar, the art of Justin Coffee" is FINALLY coming out.

Like I was saying before, just sharing our work on DA isn't really enough. Just having it tangible you will be able to notice all those little subtle distinction that we go through in working on our art. That is the nuance that continues to push us as artists.
Order the book
As much as there will be artists who will study Justin's work, he will be several miles ahead of them as he continues to innovate his style.

just doing a little rotation.

I'll be first to admit it didn't go as well as I planed, but I still enjoyed working on it. It's for something else I'm working on, and nothing makes me smile more then Harley Quinn's just being cute.

Can't stop playing DMC4

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
mr driller
I should be drawing more, but I'm just help this addiction I have for the PC port of DMC4. I guess a lot of it has to do with being dumbstruck with Capcom actually for once in over 20 years to actually make a good PC Port. I remember a time hanging out of Electronics Boutique and seeing a box copy of Megaman 3 years after it's successful release of the NES version. Or Street Fighter or Megaman X ported onto and then learning how to do complex moves with the keyboard... but now, it seems like everything seems to be in order well designed and a boat load of option.... aside from the fact of being drop dead gorgeous.

there is a lot to be said about being a PC gamer, a lot of that is "patience." But Good Lord!!! The game doesn't run like a slide show, and especially the "Dark Knight" Mode. It's simply, more enemies on the screen. And somehow my PC never pauses, never takes a moment to catch it's breath because it's just too enemies on screen for it to handle it. Instead it's a big dark sweaty mosh pit of limps, swords, glowing orbs and billions of slashes.
I was messing around with dual monitor support, and took some screens of it. They don't have antialiasing, so it's a bit noticable, but still looks beautiful.

I'm getting too addicted to this. The last one was over a few hundred megs because it was high res videos that were a gigs each. Wanted to test out rescaling with different video quality. Still the editing I find it better then the last one. Ack! I'm too addicted to making these videos

DMC4 for the PC

First off, let me start by saying, Capcom and PC is a long sorted history. From Street Fighter to Resident Evil to Megaman, the PC cousins have always been bulkier and slower then their more refined console siblings. It's all has been this way.... until now... I feel somewhat at a lost for Words as to Devil May Cry 4 on PC
the only way I can express it.... is by making a silly music video.

Just finished coloring in the line art to my girlfriend's catwoman pin up.

I had a lot of fun working on this piece. Gave me a good opportunity to find lots of textures to experiment with

I'm just personally proud of this right here with this kitten. Here's a super tight close up, something your not going to find in a resized image

am I going in the right direction?

this is just a general question to all my friends. Been working on this for a while. A bit too long, to the point I'm not certain. But the idea is this "Boys night out," and it's Reginald and Elias, and a few friends in a Colonalist style backdrop.

here are some of my concept designs

Team Fortress 2 for FREE!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
sparrow
For May 2-4 Team Fortress 2 will be Free for anyone. Just set up a steam acount, preload it, and you got it for free for 3 days.

It's a game I can't stop talking about. The game is very scalable, even a low end machine this game will run well. It's not tactical realistic simulation, instead it's super fun. Bet you in the first 15 minutes it'll make you smile for it's simple design.

Give a shot, what do you have to loose.
Sadly I won't be on Steam this weekend, but I wish I was there. Still my steam handle is "crithon." I would love to set up an all artist TF2 team.

Wyliman cover color

I had the wonderful opportunity to work as colorist on this piece

Just really wanted to pop it out, in the spirit of an old Disney cartoon.

Trying to use the original Donald Duck screen grab didn't help as reference because it was too muted and toned down.

So I had add another layer, of a solid orange, set the layer to "saturate." Sorry the image is pretty large Read more... )
I'm really proud of this piece, and I hope you take a moment to check out Wyliman. And please pick up the comic here and here. The print is just beautiful, your really going to want to get your hands on it and appreciate the detail.

Lego Harley Quinn

just digging around the internet, and finally found an image of Lego Harley.

Coming in July with the new Lego sets, but sadly the Video Game won't be released till September. Really Really really really excited about that considering how well Traveler's Tales handled Lego Star Wars.

Although they look a little bit different, don't count out that you can rotate her head for different expression just like Lego Catwoman figures.

just kicking around an idea

and some more batman doodles, I know there's a lot of people who bitch about seeing batman killing people. Don't worry, that guy is okay, just a wack over the head can sometime look a lot more painful then it actually is.
